Not investment advice

CowrieOS is educational financial-planning software. It is not, and does not hold itself out as, a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser (RIA), Research Analyst, stock broker, portfolio manager, or AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor. Nothing in the product — the planning engine, the rule-based “advice engine,” the AI advisor, the reports, or any calculator — constitutes investment advice, research, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security, mutual fund scheme, insurance policy, or other financial product. References to product categories (e.g., “flexi-cap funds”, “term insurance”) are educational descriptions of asset classes and conventions, not solicitations.

Assumptions drive everything

Every projection rests on assumptions you control — inflation, returns, step-ups, life expectancy. They are conventions, not promises. Markets, tax law, and life will deviate from them, sometimes severely. Past returns of any asset class do not guarantee future returns. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks; read all scheme-related documents carefully.

Data accuracy

NAVs and scheme data come from public AMFI data via third-party services and may be delayed, missing, or wrong. CAS parsing is best-effort and requires your review. You are responsible for verifying every figure before acting on it.

The AI advisor

AI responses are generated by a large language model and can be incorrect, incomplete, or outdated despite being grounded in your data. They are educational conversation, not advice, and must not be the sole basis of any financial decision.

When to get real advice

For personalized advice — specific schemes, tax filing positions, estate documents — consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser, a chartered accountant, or a lawyer as appropriate. The Family Plan Report is designed to make that conversation faster.
